Nordic Energy Services is a locally owned and operated tank truck, and production service company based in Clairmont, Alberta, servicing the oil and gas sector across Northern Alberta. As our operations continue to grow, we are currently seeking a qualified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a fleet of tank trucks, pressure trucks, trailers, and related equipment. TDG tanker knowledge and experience is required. This is a shop-based position with occasional field work as needed.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy-duty equipment including vacuum and pressure trucks, trailers, and fluid hauling units.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Complete CVIP inspections (valid certification preferred).
- Ensure compliance with all company, provincial, and federal safety.
- Complete work orders, service records, and maintenance documentation accurately.
- Team player with a strong commitment to quality
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties
- Communicate effectively with Shop Forman, dispatch, and operations.
- Participate in ongoing safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Respond to after hours service calls as part of a rotating on-call schedule.
- Ability to perform physically demanding duties, in adverse conditions
- Work independently in both shop and field environments.
- Journeyman Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Certification (Alberta or Red Seal Interprovincial).
- TDG tank and pressure truck experience an asset
- CVIP License or ability to obtain.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 an asset).
- Minimum 3–5 years of industry experience preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
