The Journeyman Electrician interprets drawings, sketches and specifications to produce or repair various parts and equipment, as well as undertakes the set-up and general maintenance of electrical systems. The Journeyman Electrician uses various equipment, machinery and hand tool to achieve the final product.
- Plan layout and illustration of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures based on job specifications and local codes
- Perform on-site service calls to support our equipment at customer facilities both local and out of town
- Read and Interpret drawings, blueprints, and schematics for electrical equipment
- Provide preliminary sketches and cost estimates for materials and services
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, to ensure compliance with codes
- Troubleshoot equipment
- Mentor Apprentice Electricians
- Perform cable pulling and wire installations and terminations
- Perform routine housekeeping duties on site and service truck for cleanup/maintenance
- Keep an accurate account for project assembly hours and materials
- Journeyman certification or Red Seal
- Industrial and commercial experience is an asset
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driver’s abstract
- Strong interpersonal skills
- AWP experience (Preferred)
- Overhead crane experience (Preferred)
- Forklift, Manlift and Scissor lift experience
