Hours depend on the job site you are working on.
Job commute can/will be anywhere in the Greater Detroit Area (Macomb, St Clair, Lapeer, Oakland, Wayne, Monroe)
- Licensed Journeyman Electrician in the state of Michigan
- Knowledgeable of the NFPA electrical code book and be able to perform all aspects of electrical duties in the field.
- Must be teachable & willing to learn from others to excel in the workplace.
- Must be willing to grow with the company.
· Show up with a positive attitude and a mission.
· Report a daily and week look ahead to the project supervisor to keep them up to date with how far along things are coming on the project and to see if there is anything to help production moving smoother.
· Set a good example and lead by example.
· Delegate tasks to apprentices to help with the job load.
· Be teachable if someone has a good suggestion.
· Train apprentices on all aspects of electrical work
· Ensure time sensitive tasks and important deadlines will be met.
· Attend project meetings to stay up to date of job site changes and notices.
· Plan your projects 1-2 weeks in advance to ensure productivity continues.
· Complete all necessary paperwork required for projects.
· Come up with solutions in any situation.
· Overlook and educate when hot work is being performed.
· Enforce all DeHondt Electric Inc. and general contractor rules/regulations.
· Cut down on wasted material and ensure all employees are organizing and returning materials back to their rightful place at the end of each day.
· Overlook and inspect completed work to ensure proper installation and aspects of project are up to code.
· Coordinate with other trades on site for routing/planning.
· Verify all power tools/ materials are back in gang box at end of each day and locked.
· Ensure team is practicing safe work practices while performing tasks.
· Represent DeHondt Electric as the face of the company.
· Wear proper PPE for the project including safety glasses, hard hat, hi-vis shirt, sturdy work boots.
· Have good communication with all the general contractors and supervisors.
· Make a list and leave it at the gang box for tools and other needs of material. Have apprentice go over with you to teach them the parts.
· Cut down on wasted material and make sure parts, rolls and scraps are conserved and recycled into other projects.
· Make sure all team members are representing DeHondt Electric Inc. in a positive way by your attitude, work ethics, and protection knowledge.
