Experienced Network Engineer who manages and supports network communications services in North America, with a special focus on OT networks for the Renewables business and Oil and Gas operations/projects.
This role involves ensuring stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.
Responsibilities:
•Oversee and manage network communications in both physical and virtual environments.
•Manage routing (preferably SD-WAN) & switching, primarily using Cisco technologies.
•Handle network security implementations and management (Cisco Firepower and Fortinet).
•Support network components within cloud environments (Azure / AWS).
•Manage network troubleshooting and escalations related to network issues.
•Liaise with Field Operational Technology (OT) teams and IT global teams to align network and security standards.
•Support initiatives involving OT networks, ensuring compliance with defined measures.
•Document and keep network diagrams, changes, and related policies updated.
•Coordinate network-related activities for various Repsol businesses in the US.
•Ensure continuous operation of network services and implement globally defined updates.
•Initiate, follow up, and manage escalations for network-related issues, including third-party service vendors and internal Repsol teams.
•Maintain network hardware and software inventory relevant to the role and update the CMDB.
•Participate in on-call support rotations as required for network issues.
•Monitor, enforce and prepare documentation in compliance with NERC regulations.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer security, information systems, or any IT-related degree.
•5+ years of proven experience in a network support position or similar technical role.
•Telecommunications / Computer Engineer or equivalent.
•Extensive demonstrable experience in network communications in both physical and virtual environments.
•Demonstrable knowledge in Routing (preferably SD-WAN) & Switching from Cisco.
•Demonstrable knowledge of Network security (Cisco Firepower and Fortinet).
•Knowledge of network aspects within Cloud environments (Azure / AWS).
•Experience with Operational Technology (OT) / SCADA network perimeter and DMZ is required.
•Demonstrable knowledge of VMware technology to virtualization services.
•Strong technical background with specific knowledge and proof experience in networking.
•Ability to manage project prioritization based on impact and criticality.
•Knowledge of LEAN, AGILE, DevSecOps methodologies
•Global vision and ability to interact with and communicate with various corporate and business areas.
Additional Qualifications:
•Preferred NERC compliance or a related industry.
•Preferred certifications include Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
•Preferred certifications include VMware and Azure cloud services or similar.
•Experience in developing projects related to renewable energies will be valued
•Experience in developing projects related Control Center will be valued
•Strong written and verbal communication skills.
•Ability to work in a team and adapt to changing business needs.
•Ability to self-start and manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced multi-changing environment.
•Persistence in problem-solving and ability to evaluate, determine, and present best solutions.
•Organizational skills and robust documentation practices.
•Spanish is an asset but not required.
•Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
•Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds of IT equipment.
