Under broad guidance, the IT Projects Portfolio Manager oversees the organization’s Information Technology projects, providing leadership to a team of IT Project Managers. This role involves coordinating project teams, managing resources, and driving the implementation of strategic initiatives across the IT project portfolio. Specific tasks may include staff workload balancing, client outreach, proposal preparation, facilitating meetings, handling escalations, and leading projects.
Job Requirements:
Education
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology related discipline or a combination of education, experience, and certification(s) that provide the necessary technical competencies to perform in this position.
• Education equivalency equals two years of directly related professional experience for every year of education not completed. The stated experience is in addition to any experience used to meet the education equivalency.
Experience
Required:
• Five years as an analyst or project/program manager of progressively complex technology projects.
• Two years of supervisory experience leading highly technical IT professionals.
• Demonstrates a strong understanding of widely recognized IT best practices.
• Possesses exceptional communication and project management skills, with a proven ability to develop technology-driven solutions that align with business objectives.
Licenses and Certifications Requirements
Required
• Valid Driver’s license from a state of residence
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
Desired
• Information Technology Infrastructure Library Certification (ITIL)
