The IT/OT Infrastructure Manager is responsible for managing ASARCO's enterprise-wide infrastructure including servers, storage systems, data centers, virtualization platforms, backups, and cybersecurity across both Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) environments. This position ensures the security, reliability, availability, and performance of the company's infrastructure systems, directly supporting operational continuity and strategic technology initiatives. The IT/OT Infrastructure Manager will report directly to the Technology Director.
- Manage and maintain server infrastructure including Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, FSMO), Linux servers, VMware virtualization (vSphere, ESXi), and SAN/NAS storage arrays.
- Perform regular system updates, security patches, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Ensure optimal system performance through proactive monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting of IT and OT server infrastructure.
- Oversee management of data center environments, including capacity planning, hardware lifecycle management, cooling, power, physical security, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Coordinate maintenance and repairs, working closely with internal teams and external service providers.
- Implement and enforce standards, policies, and procedures to maintain a reliable and secure data center infrastructure.
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive backup and disaster recovery strategies utilizing Veeam and VMware technologies.
- Regularly test disaster recovery processes to ensure rapid recovery capabilities and minimize business impact during outages.
- Implement and manage robust cybersecurity measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS), endpoint protection, and security best practices to protect IT and OT infrastructure.
- Ensure infrastructure compliance with regulatory standards and company policies (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443).
- Perform routine security audits and vulnerability assessments to proactively mitigate risks.
- Lead infrastructure-related projects, clearly defining project scope, timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, OT, and business operations to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Manage vendor relationships, licensing agreements, warranties, and support contracts to ensure cost-effective infrastructure management.
- Negotiate favorable terms and oversee procurement processes for infrastructure-related equipment, software, and services.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to infrastructure team members.
- Collaborate closely with the OT Manager and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration and unified support for all infrastructure-related requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation of infrastructure configurations, standards, operational procedures, and system architecture.
- Prepare and deliver regular performance, risk, and status reports to senior management.
- Extensive hands-on experience managing enterprise-level Windows Server and Linux environments, VMware virtualization, storage (SAN/NAS), and backup solutions (Veeam).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SCCM, and server patching procedures.
- Familiarity with network technologies and infrastructure monitoring tools (SNMP, NetFlow, performance monitoring software).
- Proven track record implementing cybersecurity frameworks and tools to secure IT and OT infrastructure environments.
- Deep understanding of infrastructure security best practices and compliance standards.
- Strong project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivering complex infrastructure projects on time and within scope.
- Practical experience developing, testing, and implementing DR and business continuity plans leveraging backup and virtualization technologies.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating contracts, managing vendor relations, and overseeing procurement processes for infrastructure technologies.

- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field or equivalent relevant experience.
- Certifications such as VMware VCP, Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNP, CISSP, or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive IT infrastructure management experience, with substantial hands-on exposure to server infrastructure, VMware virtualization, SAN/NAS storage, backup solutions, and cybersecurity.
- Demonstrated success in managing data center operations, disaster recovery strategies, vendor management, and project delivery.
- Previous experience supporting infrastructure within mining or industrial environments is preferred.
- Previous experience in the mining industry or similar industrial environments is strongly preferred.
