Ironworker Foremen

Lightning Steel is actively seeking an experienced and highly skilled Ironworker to join our team as a Field Foreman. If you have a proven track record in structural steel erection, a strong understanding of building practices, and exceptional leadership abilities, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities:

- Oversee all operations and procedures of steel erection and installation for a variety of projects, from small to large scale.

- Manage a team of 4-10 employees, overseeing their daily duties and ensuring efficient workflow.

- Erect structural steel buildings and install stairs and handrails.

- Read and interpret blueprints and construction drawings.

- Perform and assess welding quality for both personal work and that of subordinates.

- Familiarity with bolting procedures.

- Ensure strict adherence to OSHA safe working practices for running equipment on job sites.

- Understand and apply building codes to all projects.

- Utilize Microsoft Teams for communication and organization.

- Perform connecting and rigging tasks.

- Prioritize and maintain job site safety.

Qualifications:

- 10 years of experience as an Ironworker, with a focus on erecting structural steel buildings and hanging stairs and handrails.

- Experience in structural steel erection/installation and as a foreman.

- Proficiency in reading drawings.

- Familiarity with building practices and a strong understanding of building codes.

- Knowledge of AWS and AISC fabrication and erection processes is a plus.

- Organized and proficient in using Microsoft Teams.

- Able to manage 4-10 employees at a moment's notice.

- A good driving record with a valid Driver's License (Required).

- Ability to weld and determine weld quality.

- Familiarity with bolting procedures.

- Strong understanding of OSHA safe working practices for running equipment on a job site.

- Construction experience: 10 years (Preferred).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
