Iron Pourer

Day Shift (Mon-Thur 4am - 2:30pm)

Essential Functions:

Ø Receives iron from iron transporter

Ø May or may not add additional alloy or inoculant

Ø Removes slag from ladle

Ø Operates ladle to mold pouring position

Ø Iron pourer may pour hunter or airset floor molds

Ø Pours mold

Ø Must have good knowledge of visual metal temperature and operation of metal handling hoist

Ø May operate overhead crane

Ø For each job card check data, including temperature information, ladle fade timer and test bars needed

Ø Monitor temperature of iron for each ladle of iron

Ø Clean weights, jackets and ladles as required

Ø Performs housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Ø Pour Test Bars as needed with the lab personnel

Ø Advise supervisor of any problem with jobs or equipmen

Ø Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned

Skills or Experience Required:

Ability to read and comprehend work instructions and following cards. Must understand numbering

Other Position Demands or Requirements:

Ø Lift 70 lbs. on an occasional basis

Ø Standing – frequent to continuous

Ø Walking – occasional to frequent

Ø Works in constant heat radiation from ladle at all times

Ø Must be able to communicate with other employees

Ø Perform at a pace to keep up with production

Ø Comply with Company’s safety policy & procedures

Ø Abide by the established foundry working requirements (attitude, technique, efficiency, safety, attendance & housekeeping

Required PPE:

Steel toed step in boots (no laces), non-synthetic clothing (no Under Armour), chaps, spats, apron, jacket

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $21.00 per hour
