U.S. Pipe and Foundry is seeking a Inventory Control Coordinator for our 6am - 4pm shift in Lynchburg, Virginia. In this role, you will monitor and analyze usage and demand to help maintain appropriate inventory levels and ensure availability.
- Meet with Shipping Supervisors and tow motor drivers at start of each shift to review load sheet and give direction on where to pull pipe for loads from to prevent first in, first out.
- Touch base with shipping supervisor and tow motors throughout the day.
- Perform cycle counts and inventory verification and communicate to area manager and shipping supervisor any anomalies or issues found. After cycle counts and inventory verification is complete, use this time to review the loads for the next shipping day and formulate a plan for start up meeting.
- Consult with shipping supervisor and area manager as necessary.
- Attend and contribute to regular scheduling meetings to provide feedback.
- Ensures controls are in place to control WIP inventory.
- Performs and/or audits this process daily.
- Works with Cold Side Area Supervisors to schedule WIP Inventories.
- Assists with the daily entry of product movements in Plant systems.
- Monitors JDE movements and clears negatives in Shipping and Packaging.
- Assists supervisory personnel with training employees in the use of scanning equipment and other tasks related to WIP and FG inventories.
- Monitors RTP movements for accuracy.
- Monitors daily moves to FG that fail and ensures moves get transacted properly.
Analyzes inventory discrepancies and adjusts as needed.
- Analyzes all movements of inventory to ensure that movements are recorded accurately and timely.
- This position will be expected to monitor emails to answer any questions or respond to and voice concerns regarding inventory levels and finished goods quality issues.
- Inspects designated finished product inventories; labels and packages finished goods and bins as required to maintain identification.
- Supervise and systematically manage the inspection of finished goods pipe with the help of finished goods inspectors. Working bay by bay in the yard, icehouse yard and field yard.
- Perform proper documentation and communication of any product found out of specification and with any defect to area manager.
- Communicate with QC, hot side, and cold side leadership quality issues that are identified and assist in developing solutions and counter measures.
- Ensure all repairs on finished goods pipe identified are completed.
- Assist shipping supervision in Verifying safety and condition of stacked finished goods pipe. (Vertically, perpendicularity, uprightness, alignment, proper chock placement.)
- Experience working in Distribution & Inventory Control or related area is a plus.
- Should have good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word/Excel and the ability to perform JDE transactions.
- Position also requires good attention to detail, problem solving, being a self-starter and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Experience with quality inspection processes and procedures.
- Experience to providing leadership and direction to an hourly and salary work force.
- Requires H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. College degree is preferred.
- Must have knowledge of Company’s products.
