Job Description:
Sustainabuilt is a boutique Class B general contractor based in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. We specialize in custom homes, thoughtful residential remodels, and select commercial and tenant improvement projects. Our builds emphasize livability, craftsmanship, and long-term sustainability—not just checking the box, but building smarter and better.
We’re a small, close-knit team focused on delivering a high-touch, high-integrity experience to our clients and trade partners alike. Our mission is to build smarter, healthier, and more sustainable spaces—while creating a better construction experience for everyone involved.
We’re looking for a hands-on, construction-savvy Intermediate Project Manager to join our growing team. This is not a coordinator or office-only role—you’ll be on-site, in charge, and responsible for taking projects from permits through final punch. You’ll manage schedules, lead subcontractors and field staff, oversee jobsite quality, and communicate directly with clients. You’ll report to ownership and play a key role in shaping the success of each build.
The right candidate has a strong background in the trades—ideally having worked as a foreman, superintendent, or crew lead—and is ready to step into full project ownership. We’ll teach you our systems, but you must be tech-comfortable and organized, with a mindset focused on accountability and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage residential and light commercial construction projects from permits through closeout
•Work closely with field staff (superintendents, assistant supers, laborers), office coordinators, and subcontractors to keep work flowing smoothly
•Own project schedules, monitor job progress, and maintain milestone targets
•Coordinate and hold subcontractors accountable for quality, timelines, and scope
•Track inspections, manage materials, and anticipate roadblocks before they impact the build
•Maintain updated construction documents, track changes, and coordinate redlines
•Lead weekly site walkthroughs, client check-ins, and handoff documentation
What You Bring:
•5+ years of hands-on experience in the trades/construction, with at least 2 years as a foreman, superintendent, or project manager
•Deep understanding of construction sequencing, subcontractor coordination, and jobsite logistics
•Confident reading construction drawings and managing work from plans
•Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and cloud-based tools to stay organized
•Willingness to learn our systems and tools (we use JobTread and Google Workspace)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
Benefits:
•Professional development assistance

Application Question(s):
•Tell us about your hands-on construction experience. What trades have you worked in, and what roles (e.g., framer, finish carpenter, foreman)?
•How comfortable are you using technology (phones, tablets, online tools) to manage jobs, track work, and communicate?
•You’re framing an exterior wall for a single-family home in Denver, which follows the 2022 Denver Residential Energy Code. What wall assembly would you propose, and why?
•Which construction-related software/tools have you used?
•You’re managing a project that wrapped up three months ago and is still under warranty. The client calls you about a water leak near a hose bib, blaming you and the plumber. After investigating, you find the issue was caused by the homeowner’s aftermarket hose reel install, which stressed the connection.
How do you handle the conversation with the client and resolve the situation?
