Instrument & Electrical Technician

Description:

GasTech Engineering LLC is seeking a skilled Instrument & Electrical Technician to join our Manufacturing Department. This role is critical in ensuring the proper control and operation of process equipment by translating engineering documentation into high-quality electrical assemblies. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and committed to excellence in electrical and instrumentation work.

Key Responsibilities:

- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wire diagrams, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings

- Perform point-to-point wiring of power and control systems

- Install instruments, actuators, controllers, and control panels

- Run conduit, wire trays, and supports

- Terminate twisted pair and multi-conductor wiring, including potted and Okonite cables

- Conduct electrical, panel, control, and communication checks

- Route and install pneumatic control tubing

- Lead small teams and plan ahead for efficient task execution

- Maintain professional housekeeping and adhere to safety standards

- Ensure minimal wiring repairs and maintain punctual, reliable attendance

Requirements:

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required

- Proven proficiency in electrical and controls automation within process piping and pressure equipment manufacturing

- Must pass a qualified electrical test and demonstrate class-appropriate experience

- Vocational training in electrical/controls preferred

- Familiarity with NEC, UL/CSA Codes, and ISO 9001 environments preferred

- Strong knowledge of electrical parts, PLCs, relays, motor starters, VFDs, valve actuators, and communication interfaces

- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills

- Ability to work with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
