About the Role
At Superior Fence & Rail, we're not just building fences: we're crafting peace of mind, security, and pride for homeowners and businesses across the nation. As the top-rated fence company in the United States, our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has earned us over 25,000 five-star reviews and a 94% customer satisfaction rating.
Founded in 2001, we've expanded to over 100 locations nationwide, making us the largest fence franchise in the country. Our success is built on a foundation of exceptional service, innovative products, and a team that truly cares.
As the Installation Operations Manager, you are the engine behind our ability to deliver exceptional fences at scale. You’ll be responsible for recruiting and managing reliable, high-performing subcontractor teams while maintaining tight control over job scheduling and coordination. This role blends recruiting, leadership, and operational precision to meet high sales demand without sacrificing quality or speed.
You’ll thrive here if you are driven, decisive, and can lead with urgency while building strong, respectful relationships with subcontractors and customers alike.
What You’ll Be Accountable For:
•Subcontractor Pipeline Development: Actively recruit, screen, and onboard new subcontractor crews with a goal of having 8+ consistent, high-performing crews up and running.
•Daily Crew Management: Run structured daily check-ins with all active crews to confirm job readiness, resolve issues, and maintain accountability.
•Weekly Job Scheduling: Use internal software to build and adjust install schedules, making sure every job is assigned efficiently and on time with no dropped balls.
•Field Oversight: Visit job sites regularly to ensure quality, support crews, and reinforce expectations, especially with newer subcontractors.
•Performance Coaching: Track install quality, timeliness, and customer satisfaction. Give direct, constructive feedback to crews and escalate issues when needed.
•Customer Coordination: Partner with sales and customer support to keep homeowners informed, minimize surprises, and ensure a great install experience.
•Problem Solving Under Pressure: When weather, material delays, or labor shortages hit — you find a solution. You rework the schedule, shift crews, and make sure jobs still go in the ground.
•System Usage & Efficiency: Stay on top of job tracking and internal platforms. Ensure information is accurate, updates are timely, and operations run like clockwork.
What Makes You a Great Fit
•You Know the Trades: You’ve worked in or around construction, landscaping, roofing, or a related field and you understand how subcontractor crews operate.
•You’re a Recruiter at Heart: Whether from staffing, trades, or operations, you’ve successfully sourced and hired 1099 or field-based labor. You know how to pitch opportunity and spot quality.
•You Lead With Structure: You set clear expectations, check in often, and hold people accountable with respect.
•You’re Calm Under Fire: When 3 jobs get delayed, one crew is short-handed, and the customer is calling — you prioritize fast, stay composed, and move forward.
•You Think in Systems: You love making things flow better: the schedule, the recruiting funnel, the handoff from sales. You’re not just executing: you’re improving.
•You Embody Our Core Values: You’re accountable and humble when things go wrong, radically honest in your communication, and resiliently optimistic about finding solutions. Most of all, you make it happen.
We Live and Lead by Our Core Values
At Superior Fence & Rail, our Core Values aren’t just posters on a wall: they’re part of our daily language, decision-making, and performance reviews. We use them to recognize great work, solve problems, and guide how we show up for each other and our customers.
If these resonate with you, you’ll feel right at home. If not, we may not be the right fit, and that’s okay. Here’s what we stand for:
•Makes It Happen: We take action, follow through, and get results, especially when things get messy. We solve problems instead of waiting for someone else to fix them.
•Radical Honesty and Transparency: We speak the truth, even when it’s uncomfortable. We own our mistakes early, communicate clearly, and lead with integrity at every level.
•Accountable and Humble: We take full ownership of our work, and we don’t point fingers. We give credit where it’s due, admit when we’re wrong, and stay open to coaching and growth.
•Empathetic Listener: We genuinely seek to understand others. Whether it’s a crew member, a customer, or a vendor, we listen with care and respond thoughtfully.
•Curious and Adaptive: We ask why, explore new ideas, and adapt quickly. We don’t get stuck in old ways; we evolve and bring others along with us.
•Resilient Optimism: We show up with energy and a positive mindset. Even when things go sideways, we stay grounded, keep moving, and lift the team with us.
