SMP Supply is a premier distributor of pipe, valves, fittings and flanges for over 30 years. Inside sales is the driving factor behind the success of SMP Supply. This position is a fast paced and high-volume position within the company. This role interacts with existing customers, primarily by phone and email, to increase sales of the company's products and/or services by obtaining and up-selling orders, creating customer satisfaction and adding value to the customer's buying experience.
Responsibilities:
•You must be comfortable answering dozens of calls per day, processing orders & quoting customers over the phone and thru email, and following up if needed
•Process orders through inbound calls and emails
•Understand customer needs and requirements
•Perform effective explanations of products over the phone and email to prospective customers
•The position collaborates with outside sales to ensure goals are being met
•Meets and exceeds performance measurements based on volume budgets, profitability, penetration, efficiency objectives
•Develops strong business relationships in growing existing accounts, prospects for opportunities within account base
•Keeps abreast of new products, and acquires and shares competitive knowledge
•Reports industry trends, competitive pricing and customer feedback to management
•Employee may be required to work overtime, and occasional Saturdays and Sundays
Requirements:
•Excellent verbal and typed communications skills
•Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
•Requires in-depth knowledge and experience in Sales and Sales Administration (4-5 years)
•Understanding of profit margins and cost analysis profiles
•Solves difficult and sometimes moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions and identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem-solving skills to resolve complex situations
