Description:
Objective:
The Inside Sales/Purchasing position serves as the primary liaison between the outside sales team and customers. This role is responsible for communicating product details, pricing, and availability, supporting order processing, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely service.
Sales Duties/Responsibilities:
•Support the daily sales operations of a building materials distribution center.
•Work with customers and co-workers to build solid relationships based on trust and competence.
•Utilize the DMSi software Agility, for order entry, purchasing entry and customer information.
•Maintain customer pricing records.
•Follow up all quotes and handle customer service claims in a timely manner.
•Other duties as assigned.
Purchasing Duties/Responsibilities:
•Ensure all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints.
•Evaluate supplier and vendor performance regularly.
•Troubleshoot cost, quality, and delivery concerns.
•Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders.
•Review purchase orders for accuracy.
Requirements:

•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Understanding of sales processes.
•Critical thinking skills to quickly solve issues and/or problems.
•Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines.
•Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
Qualifications:
•Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
•Prior inside sales and customer service experience.
•Industry experience in building materials/lumber preferred.
