The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).
Reporting to the Corporate Director, Innovation, you will join the innovation team and actively contribute to the achievement of strategic objectives while embodying Agnico Eagle's values and strictly adhering to the health, safety, and environmental code of conduct.
As an Innovation Specialist – Mining Operations, you will play a key role in identifying, evaluating, and deploying innovative technologies related to mining activities, among other things. You will be responsible for developing financial packages and technology maturation plans aimed at improving the company's operational performance.
You will also be called upon to assist various groups in integrating the technologies and initiatives under your responsibility, providing technical and strategic support throughout the process.
- Monitor available and emerging innovations in the mining sector on an ongoing basis;
- Identify high-potential technologies that could have a significant impact on the company;
- Conduct comparative analyses and financial viability studies for different technological solutions;
- Participate in the drafting of technical studies (preliminary, pre-feasibility, feasibility) and the preparation of strategic presentations;
- Communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders, from the ideation phase through to implementation;
- Ensure rigorous documentation of innovation projects and files;
- Map methods, technologies, and processes related to mineral extraction operations in order to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in mining engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field.
- Have a minimum of 10 years of engineering experience and 5 years in the mining field.
- Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ).
- Be fluent in English, as the work will be done in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language
- Fluency in spoken and written French is an asset
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday; possibility of a 5-2-4-3 schedule;
- Work location: Possibility of working in one of AEM's offices closest to your home in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, Mirabel, or Toronto. There is a possibility of having a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an AEM office and some days remotely.
