As the Senior Mining Engineer – Underground Studies, the successful candidate will be a key contributor to the mine development team, responsible for advancing technical studies for the Santa Cruz project in Arizona. This position requires strong technical skills. The candidate should be comfortable working in a multi-disciplinary environment with proven underground engineering expertise.
· Provide ongoing technical support for mining studies (Pre-feasibility and Feasibility).
· Design mine infrastructure, including ventilation, dewatering, and backfill systems.
· First principles and benchmark cost estimating (CapEx and OpEx).
· Engagement with site teams on various MRMR best practices and standards
· Undertaking Mineral Reserve estimates using 3D computer methodologies for projects at various stages of development in accordance with international best practices.
· Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community, and environmental protection, and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or noncompliant behaviors do not occur.
· Inform, involve, and engage key internal and external stakeholders appropriately.
· Manage contractors and sub-contractors on projects (as required).
· Minimum of 5 years of operational underground hard rock mining / engineering / planning experience.
· Proficient with Deswik planning software, and capable of utilizing industry knowledge to develop mine designs and production plans.
· Strong understanding of geology, geotechnical engineering, and ore body characterization.
· Authorization to work lawfully in the USA is required.
· Knowledge of industry standards in mineral resource and mineral reserve estimation and compliance with public disclosure regulations.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience in writing RFP, technical reports, and general project correspondence.
