Job Description Summary

The Lead Project Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing systems for our Flexible AC Transmission Systems (FACTS), ensuring optimal performance and reliability

Responsabilités Principales

Diriger la conception, le développement et la mise en œuvre des équipements électriques pour les dispositifs FACTS, notamment les condensateurs série fixes et les condensateurs synchrones.

Élaborer les études et les spécifications des équipements, émettre les demandes d’achat de matériel et évaluer les devis des fournisseurs pour les équipements FACTS, notamment les condensateurs, les parafoudres, les réacteurs, les équipements rotatifs, les disjoncteurs haute tension, les transformateurs de puissance, les câbles haute tension et les systèmes de protection et de contrôle.

Collaborer avec des équipes multidisciplinaires, notamment des ingénieurs en contrôle, des ingénieurs concepteurs et des chefs de projet techniques, afin d'assurer la réussite des projets.

Effectuer des modélisations, des simulations et des analyses de systèmes afin d’optimiser la conception électrique et d’améliorer les performances des systèmes.

Fournir des conseils techniques et de l'encadrement aux ingénieurs juniors et soutenir leur perfectionnement professionnel.

Participer aux essais et à la validation des systèmes FACTS, en s'assurant qu'ils sont conformes aux normes et réglementations du secteur.

Dépanner et résoudre les problèmes techniques complexes.

Se tenir au courant des dernières avancées en matière d'ingénierie des systèmes FACTS et de technologie des systèmes électriques.

Préparer la documentation technique, y compris les plans de test, les formations et les manuels d’utilisation. Soutenir les activités de développement des affaires en apportant une expertise technique et en contribuant à l'élaboration de propositions.

Qualifications

Baccalauréat en génie électrique, ingénierie ou dans un domaine connexe. Maîtrise de préférence.

Au moins 5 ans d'expérience en génie, ou maîtrise et 2 ans d'expérience FACTS.

Solides connaissances en conception de postes électriques et en réseaux électriques, et expérience des normes et codes IEEE, CEI, ANSI, NEC et NESC.

Maîtrise d'outils logiciels tels que Word, Excel, Windchill Imagine, Tableau, ATP et Python.

Expérience des systèmes de contrôle-commande, des schémas d'équipements, de l'installation, des essais sur le terrain et de la mise en service d'équipements HT, y compris les pratiques de travail sécuritaires requises.

Excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes et capacité de réflexion analytique et stratégique.

Excellentes compétences en communication et en relations interpersonnelles, et capacité à travailler efficacement en équipe.

Expérience démontrée en gestion et en gestion de projets d'ingénierie.

Capacité de s'adapter à l'évolution des priorités et de travailler dans un environnement dynamique et dynamique.

Le baccalauréat en génie professionnel (PE) est un atout.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design, development, and implementation of electrical equipment design for FACTS devices, including Fixed Series Capacitors and Synchronous Condensers.

- Develop equipment studies, equipment specifications, issue material purchase requests, and evaluate vendor quotations for FACTS equipment including capacitors, arresters, reactors, rotating equipment, high voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, high voltage cable, and protection and control systems.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including control engineers, design engineers, and technical project managers, to ensure the successful project execution.

- Conduct system modeling, simulation, and analysis to optimize electrical design and improve system performance.

- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support their professional development.

- Participate in the testing and validation of FACTS systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.

- Stay current with the latest advancements in FACTS systems engineering and power systems technology.

- Prepare technical documentation, including test plans, training, and user manuals.

- Support business development activities by providing technical expertise and contributing to proposal development.


Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering, or Master’s Degree and 2 years FACTS experience

- Strong knowledge of substation design, power systems, and experience using IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NEC, and NESC standards and codes.

- Proficiency in software tools such as Word, Excel, Windchill Imagine, Tableau, ATP and Python.

- Experience with control systems, equipment schematics, installation, field-testing and commissioning of HV equipment, including required safe work habits

- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically and strategically.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

- Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering projects.

- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

- Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.

The salary range for this position is 88,600.00 - 118,100.00 - 147,600.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
