GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced RT Technician to join our team at our Honey Brook and Morgantown, PA locations. This position is responsible for providing day-to-day radiography support within our General Fabrication, ASME Section VIII, and NQA-1 markets. This position will play an integral role in the growth and improvement of the RVII organization through elevating first pass quality, increased project throughput, on-time delivery, and project expectations.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES•Professionally represent RVI’s quality programs in accordance with manuals and procedures
•Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under examination, ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations
•Set up radiographic exposures with appropriate identification, location markers, and penetrometers
•Conduct Radiographic examinations for detection of discontinuities (defects)
•Process develop and interpret radiographic films for acceptance or rejection based on customers' specifications and/or nationally recognized codes (ASME, ANSI, API, AWS)
•Identify examined materials, fabrications and assemblies showing type and location of defects identified on film
•Perform alternate NDE testing (i.e. VT, PT, LT, and UT-T)
•Maintain adherence with all M&TE requirements, testing requirements, and procedures
•Accurately and concisely complete inspection records for proper documentation compliance
•Review supplier proposals for compliance to contract requirements
•Provide guidance and on-the-job training for Trainees and RT Assistants.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
•Ability to understand and interpret design and manufacturing drawings
•Understand nationally recognized codes (ASME, ANSI, API, AWS) and NQA-1 Quality Systems
•Communicate effectively in both written and oral manner
•Proven track record for compliance to ALARA principles
•Proficient math skills for calculation of exposure durations, safe boundary establishment, etc.
•Ability to obtain additional NDE certifications in VT, PT, UT-T, BLT, and MT
•Completion of a forty (40) hour Radiation Safety Course preferred. (Required for all hired as a Radiographer)
EDUCATIONAL/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
•High School Diploma or equivalent required.
•Two or more years of experience in industrial radiography (non-medical)
•Current ASNT or equivalent certification as an RT Level II
•Experience with Computed Radiography preferred
•Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) training is a plus
•Experience in other NDE methods: VT, PT, MT, UT, and LT preferred
•Everyday exposure to moving machinery, welding arc flash, dust, dirt, grease or other disagreeable elements
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Self-motivated with attention to detail and accurate reporting
•Proficient in MS Office suite products
