We distribute, fabricate and finish (anodize and paint) aluminum and other products primarily for the commercial construction market. We are currently hiring a Maintenance-Sanitation Technician at our facility in Redding, California.
This is a position for our manufacturing plant in Redding CA, where we distribute, fabricate and anodize aluminum. The sanitation-maintenance technician will work independently, for around 50 % of the time, on the upkeeping and servicing of facilities offices, breakrooms, and restrooms; the employee will perform skilled work involving heavy cleaning such as mopping, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing and other assigned duties, to maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, appearance, and safe condition of the company restrooms in an accurate manner. This is the primary role for this position. For the other 50 % of the time, the employee will also work with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. This may include assisting on troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. This position reports to the Production Manager and will be led by the Maintenance Lead. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Solve problems that require one or two mathematical operations. They can add, subtract, or multiply using positive or negative numbers (such as 10 or -2), and they can divide positive numbers (such as 10).

- Figure out simple ratios (such as ¾), simple proportions (such as 10/100 cases), or rates (such as 10 mph).
- Add commonly known fractions, decimals, or percentages (such as ½, 0.75, or 25%).
- Add or subtract fractions with a common denominator (such as ¼ + ¾ + ¼).
- Multiply a mixed number (such 12 1/8) by a whole number or a decimal.
- Put information in the right order before performing calculations.
- Reading materials include company policies, procedures, and notices
- Reading materials are straightforward but have longer sentences and contain a number of details
- Reading materials use common words but do have some harder words, too

1) Knowledge of sanitation and industrial hygiene practices and procedures.
2) Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, fabrication, welding, mechanics, and plumbing.
3) Ability to read and understand layouts and schematics for facility and machinery systems.
4) Experience in preventive maintenance and understanding of industrial activities.
5) Basic understanding of hazardous chemicals and types of PPE used.
One year related industrial experience. Classroom training is helpful.
Required to complete HAZWOPER (24hrs), DOT, and Title 22 trainings withing 1 month of starting date.
Good listening skills are a prerequisite. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Applicants will be required to take a math skills test.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
