POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, System Thermal Hydraulics leads a team that is responsible for the development and application of natural circulation PWR methods, with a focus on deterministic system thermal hydraulic methods. The Manager, System TH fosters cross-functional design integration with fuel, core, and safety system design to produce methods that meet safety, regulatory, and performance requirements while also supporting commercialization of the NuScale SMR. The Manager, System TH is also responsible for development of advanced methods and identification of design improvements that align with strategic objectives. The Manager, System TH supports domestic regulatory interactions and license applications and participates in development of international regulatory strategies and safety analysis development.
- Oversee the development, validation, and application of evaluation models and system TH methodologies to support reactor design, licensing, and system optimization. Maintain analysis methodologies in accordance with applicable regulatory guidance (e.g., NRC Regulatory Guides, NUREGs).
- Lead and manage a team of thermal hydraulic engineers in the development, validation, and licensing of system TH methodologies, and in the performance of transient system analyses.
- Coordinate with nuclear, core TH, mechanical, I&C, and operations teams to ensure consistent and integrated system behavior modeling.
- Lead technical scope and interactions during topical report development, pre-application meetings, regulatory audits, RAI response development, and license applications. Support development of international regulatory strategies and conforming methodology development.
- Review and approve technical documentation including engineering calculations, methodology reports, software quality assurance documents, and input to regulatory documentation.
- Prepares project scope estimates, schedules, budget, and resource plans and manages execution of project scope. Considers NuScale strategic objectives in medium and long-term planning for future analysis capability needs.
- Understands and applies sound approaches and standards for solving technical problems in applicable discipline, and leads cross‐functional projects within areas of responsibility.
- Evaluates performance, administers coaching, and conducts performance reviews. Develops team members’ capabilities in support of individual career goals and team objectives.
- Interfaces and coordinates with internal and external clients as required for successful project execution.

- Education: A minimum of a B.S. degree in Nuclear or Mechanical Engineering. A professional engineer license registration and/or an advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible engineering experience in primary area of responsibility is required, with at least 5 of those years having been in a lead and/or supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with system thermal hydraulic codes and methods is required. Experience with employee conflict resolution, disciplinary protocols, performance reviews, prioritizing work of others is preferred. Proven track record of managing staff from multiple disciplines and coordinating design interfaces to provide design solutions in a timely manner is preferred.

Pay and Benefits:
The target base salary range for this position is $150,537 - $181,683 annually.The full base salary range is $134,964 - $211,098 annually.
