Description:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Oversees the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation, control circuits and equipment related to natural gas processes such as the compression, dehydration, measurement, transmission and storage of natural gas.
•Manages contract labor utilized during facility construction, existing facility maintenance, safety system testing, calibration, and emergency call outs
•Guarantees accurate scheduling of equipment, materials, and man power for facility construction operations
•Works with midstream providers to ensure accurate delivery of data and flawless communication of safety systems
•Responsible for testing of the safety system, documentation of such tests, and corrective action should such test fail to meet the requirements set forth by Gulfport Energy
•Schedules flow meter calibration of all AGA regulated meter runs and documents tests for record keeping
•Plans and maintains LOE budget for department and utilizes existing resources to minimize deviation from budget
•Troubleshooting includes the utilization of equipment such as a laptop computer, multi-meter, instrument/device communicator, device software, documenting process calibrator, etc.
•Develops and maintains interactive work relationships to accurately and effectively complete job responsibilities
•Directs, advises, instructs, inspects, supports, and/or assists contractors and employees in the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of assets
•Ensures regulatory and compliance standards are met
•Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
•Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles
•Knowledge of Measurement devices (Press, Flow, Temperature, Moisture, Vibration, Speed, Density, Level) and ability to calibrate the same
•Knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), Human Machine Interface (HMI), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
•Knowledge of Ethernet Communications Equipment
•Knowledge of Valves and Positioners
•Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Bureau of Standards Transmitter calibration and tolerance standards
•Knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements
•Knowledge of cloud based software programs and the ability to interpret control system software for the purpose of diagnostic troubleshooting
•Ability to use computers, iPhones, iPads and office equipment
•Ability to pass electrical, electronic and pneumatic equipment, and digital equipment troubleshooting tests
•Ability to operate diagnostic equipment (multimeter, calibrator, oscilloscope, etc.)
•Ability to interpret installation specifications, wiring schematics, instrument drawings and component diagrams
•Ability to define specifications and requisition instrumentation and control equipment
•Ability to define problems, collect data and draw conclusions
•Ability to work independently and as a team member
•Ability to complete projects assigned with necessary follow up within deadlines
•Employment contingent upon submission to and successful completion of pre-placement drug test along with random drug testing and a motor vehicles check
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelors of Science Degree in technical field preferred
•Minimum 2 years oil and gas experience, with previous SCADA or process control systems experience preferred
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in both a professional office environment and a field environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, iPads, iPhones, laptop computers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This job also operates in a field environment with equipment, dust, debris, and varying weather conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The physical demands described here are typical to that of the field environment, and are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:
•Ability to climb vessel ladders and work at heights up to 25 feet
•Must be able to walk, stand, and otherwise navigate uneven rural terrain
•This position requires walking or standing for extended periods in all types of terrain and working in environments of extreme temperatures (heat, cold, dust, etc.)
•Must be able to manually open and close valves and other equipment
•Must be able to use pipe wrenches and other applicable oilfield related tools
•Exposure to loud noise, occupational hazards, or outdoor elements
•Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and walkways as associated with oilfield environment
•While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk and hear
•The employee frequently is required to use hands along with fingers, to type, squeeze, handle or feel materials
•The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
•Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, 75-100 lbs. on an occasional basis
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work will vary due to workload/needs of the company.
TRAVEL:
Frequent local travel is expected for this position. Some out of town travel may be required.
