Position Summary: Analyzes blueprints, specification, proposals and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials and labor estimates for bidding construction projects. Computes cost estimates for materials purchased and/or leased equipment, subcontracted work, production activities and requirements.

PAY IS COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•

Prepare bid proposals for Instrumentation and Electrical new construction and maintenance projects and facilities projects.

•

Control all commercial requests for proposals from companies.

•

Attend bid walks and job showings.

•

Figure dollar estimates and develop schedule.

•

Finalize and submit complete package proposal to company.

•

Handoff project budgets and schedule upon award.

•

Use current pricing agreements to develop unit prices and T&M estimates.

•

Receive field data to compile estimates and set AFE’s for projects currently under contract.

•

Submit estimates to companies.

•

Handoff project budgets and schedule upon award.

•

Track estimates and WIP’s to develop historic data to be archived for future use, such as for: 1)Were we high and why? 2)Were we low and why? 3)Did we make money?

•

Use historical data to develop 3S standards that are both budgetary and schedule driven.

•

Perform other duties as assigned by the company.

Education and Professional Licensing or Certifications

•

Required Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

•

Preferred Education: College coursework in construction science, construction management, engineering, or related.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

•

Have a good grasp on Excel, Primavera, Microsoft Projects.

•

Familiar with estimating software would be a huge plus.

•

Willing to travel to different bid meetings.

•

Organized.

•

Self-motivated and driven.

•

Willing to adapt and change in response to market or industry.

•

Minimum 2 years of experience in Instrumentation and Electrical new construction and maintenance projects and facilities projects, with preferred experience estimating cryogenic plants.
