In-Line Pigging Solutions Ltd. specializes in supporting and executing pipeline integrity management programs. Founded in 2003 with its head office located in Calgary, AB, In-Line started with 3 employees and has now grown to over 120 team members in the office and field. We have a highly trained workforce that is located across Canada and the United States providing a local presence from coast to coast.
This dual-function position combines HSE and QA/QC coordination responsibilities. As HSE Coordinator, the incumbent will oversee and manage In-Line Pigging Solutions Ltd.'s comprehensive Health and Safety program.
As QA/QC Coordinator, they will ensure all company products and services meet or exceed customer expectations while maintaining full compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
Specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the overall administration and compliance of the ILPS Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) policy & program.
- Review existing documents, research best practices, and create new policies as needed to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Maintain compliance within Industry Certification and Tracking platforms such as ISNetworld, Avetta, and Complyworks, and advise of any issues with our company credentials and certifications.
- Lead annual maintenance and recertification safety audits for ILPS’s Certification of Recognition (COR).
- Manage, track, and record on key internal safety metrics such as Hazard recognition cards, truck inspections and hazard assessment documents.
- Communicate company metrics and safety information to clients as needed.
- Ensure that all employees have up-to-date safety certifications and are properly trained in safe work practices, including how to operate equipment, use PPE, and handle hazardous materials.
- Responsible for training the Safety Orientation Program to all new employees.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of the workplace to identify potential hazards and ensure that safety protocols are being followed.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, safety meetings, and accidents/near misses.
- Ensure all Company and personal vehicles used for work purposes meet or exceed Company safety & maintenance standards and are serviced at appropriate intervals.
- Maintain records of Alcohol & Drug test results.
- Lead & direct development of monthly safety meetings.
- Conduct incident investigations when required to identify and report root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Lead the Safety Committee and chair the meetings.
- Collaborate with management to identify areas where safety improvements can be made.
- Responsible for developing, updating, and implementing QA/QC policies and procedures in order to meet company standards and customer expectations. This may involve developing testing plans and procedures, overseeing the testing process, and analyzing test results.
- Stay informed of changes to quality regulations and ensure that the company is in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Direct & Track investigations for quality non-conformances, to determine the cause and identify ways to prevent similar issues from occurring in the future.
- Ensure all employees are properly trained in quality control procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, testing results, and investigations into quality issues.
- Identify areas where quality improvements can be made and implement policies and procedures that further promote QA/QC throughout the organization.
- Use quality tools and identified methodologies to assist in determining the root cause of errors and develop various tools and reports to make the auditing process efficient and timely.
- Audit quality processes and follow up with corrective actions found during the audit.
The requirements of this position include, but are not limited to:
- 5-7 years of experience in Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental role, preferably in the oil and gas sector.
- Qualified Safety Representative (QSR) Designation or other regionally or nationally recognized safety certification (such as CRSP, NCSO, CHSO, CSO or other industry recognized safety designation) is preferred.
- QEHS training such as NCSO or HSE Administrator through ACSA or willingness to obtain would be considered an asset.
- A clean driver’s abstract is required.
- Training and safety certifications including H2S Alive, First Aid & CPR, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), ATV & Snowmobile Practical Training and Train the trainer.
- Qualified to perform internal COR audits is required.
- Proficient in managing pre-qualification registries (ISNetworld, Avetta, CQ Network, CanQual).
- Possess the safety attitude to sustain the safety culture from the front line to the supervisors to management.
- Strong cross-collaboration skills to support leaders across the organization on successful achievement of strategic business goals.
- Experience in coaching and developing employee’s knowledge and ability to deliver on HSEQ expectations.
- Skilled at emergency preparedness and business continuity planning and execution.
- Possesses a continuous improvement and quality mindset and seeks to continuously improve processes and incorporate best practices where applicable.
- Individual must be solutions driven, energetic, positive, willing to take initiative, and be well-organized.
- Good interpersonal skills, verbal skills, thinking and problem-solving skills, and decision-making ability.
- Competent computer skills including Excel, Word, Power Point and email applications.
Hours for this position are primarily Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, but may be dictated by the specific project(s) you are working on. Duties and responsibilities will be carried out primarily in an office setting.
