Company Overview:
American Well Services is located in Midland, TX and provides well service rigs for the purpose of workover or completion operations. Along with the well service rigs, AWS offers a wide range of additional wellsite support services including, fluid transfer, fishing and rental services, hot oiling, frac tank rental and wellsite construction. Position Overview:
The HSE Specialist will provide support by planning, coordinating, and implementing effective HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure that the department objectives are met. Operate with a “Partnership” approach with all Operations departments and develop relationships that are not adversarial.
Responsibilities:
•Perform regular HSE assessments and partner with operations to develop complete corrective actions
•Establish and maintain open lines of communications with field level and supervisor level employees
•Participate in incident and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations
•Provide coaching and training to promote safe work habits and safety awareness
•Support HSE Management and ensure compliance within workplace facilities customer locations
•Provide onsite support by conducting routine site visits, incident investigations, client meetings, training and any other support identified by the HSE Manager
•Ensure training, tailgate meetings, and emergency drills are conducted, documented, and maintained
•Prepares, submits, and conduct follow-up lessons learned and safety alerts to HSE Management
•Respond to emergencies in the field as necessary and during 24 rotational on-call schedule
Experience/Qualifications:
•1-2 years of related HSE experience
•Bilingual, in Spanish and English, preferred
•Accident/incident investigation experience
•Experience in KPA and similar HSE management applications
•Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies (OSHA, DOT, EPA, etc.)
•OSHA 10 and OSHA certifications, or able to obtain within 90 days of employment
•Analytical and problem solving skills
•Organizational skills and attention to detail
•Knowledge of HSE technology and equipment
•Proficient in MS Office applications
•Experience presenting HSE training programs
•Valid driver license and insurable
•Reside locally to Midland/Odessa
•Ability to clear/pass pre-employment screening, testing and job-relevant hiring requirements
•Other duties assigned by HSE Manager
Physical Conditions:
•Proof of eligibility to work in the United States, as required by law
•Able to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
•Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on routine basis
•Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
•Able to deal with wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat/cold
•Work environment may include moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles and moderate to loud noise, requiring consistent use of appropriate PPE
