pH7 is seeking a dedicated and experienced HSE Manager to lead and manage all aspects of health and safety across our Recycling and Mining Divisions, operating in multiple locations. This leadership role will report directly to the CEO and will ensure that all HSE standards are met and exceeded, regulatory requirements are followed, and that a strong safety culture is upheld throughout the organization.
What You'll Do
•Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of health and safety programs across all recycling and mining sites.
•Ensure our company and all of our job sites are in compliance with local and federal regulations.
•Serve as Chair of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), ensuring regular meetings, compliance, and timely follow-up on action items.
•Conduct and lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and root cause analysis following incidents or near-misses.
•Implement corrective actions and track the resolution of all safety-related findings and action items.
•Develop, schedule, maintain up to date information and deliver health and safety training programs for all levels of staff.
•Provide ongoing guidance and support to site supervisors and employees to promote a proactive safety culture.
•Perform regular site inspections and audits to identify potential risks and improvement opportunities.
•Monitor and report on key safety performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to senior leadership.
•Maintain up-to-date certifications and stay informed of changes in health and safety legislation.
•Collaborate with operational leaders to integrate safety into daily work practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
•Help identify and evaluate potential risks related to processes, equipment, and chemical handling operations.
•Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure that process design and modifications are evaluated for safety impacts.
•Act as a change agent to drive engagement and ownership of health and safety at all organizational levels.
•Create an annual HSE plan and train employees and managers on updated procedures.
What You'll Need
•At least 5-7 years in a Health and Safety leadership role.
•Valid health and safety certification (e.g., CRSP, CSP, NEBOSH, or equivalent).
•In-depth knowledge of both Operational Health and Safety and Process Safety Management principles and practices.
•In-depth knowledge of relevant occupational health and safety regulations and best practices.
•Strong experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analysis.
•Excellent communication, training, and leadership skills.
•Proficiency with MS Office Suite and industry-standard HSE software solutions.
•Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel between sites as needed.
How You'll Stand Out
•Previous HSE experience in mining, recycling, or heavy industry environments.
•Previous experience leading safety initiatives and operations across multiple sites and teams.
•Direct experience in onboarding and implementing industry-standard digital HSE software solutions.
•Proven success in developing and implementing HSE policies and SOP frameworks.
Working Hours
This is a part-time, salaried position at pH7 Technologies. The role is expected to require approximately 20 hours per week, equivalent to two (2) to three (3) working days. Please note that this position is fully on-site; remote or hybrid work arrangements will not be considered.
