Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and repairing various types of heavy machinery and equipment, including diesel engines and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and air brake systems. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
•Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment, including tractors, trailers, and industrial machinery.
•Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and techniques.
•Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential problems before they become serious issues.
•Repair diesel engines, focusing on performance optimization and reliability.
•Maintain electrical systems within heavy equipment to ensure proper functionality.
•Work with air brake systems to ensure compliance with safety standards.
•Keep detailed records of maintenance performed and parts used for inventory management.
•Collaborate with service technicians to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
•Follow safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
Requirements
•Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role.
•Strong knowledge of diesel engine repair and maintenance practices.
•Familiarity with automotive diagnostics tools and techniques.
•Experience working with industrial equipment and tractor-trailer systems is preferred.
•Ability to maintain high standards of safety and quality in all work performed.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
•Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report findings.
•A valid driver's license is required; additional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance are a plus.
