Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Earthworks Inc, a leading manufacturer and distributor of natural stone and masonry products, has an immediate opening for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at our facility in Ste Genevieve, MO.

Experience in diagnostics and repair including: Diesel engines, electrical, suspension, steering, air brakes and hydraulics of quarry/heavy construction equipment is required.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Minimum of 5 years experience as a mechanic repairing and maintaining heavy equipment in a field of heavy construction, mining, and/or related industry.

- Knowledge and experience in electrical, drive train, engine, hydraulics

- History of working with different forms of heavy equipment (forklift, tractors, wheel loader , material handler)

- Knowledge and experience with diesel engine, hydraulic and electronical systems

- Perform maintenance for industrial machines and equipment through accurate equipment inspections, using a specific equipment checklist.

- Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.

- Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects.

- Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices.

- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.

- Ability to work well with and communicate with others.

- Minimum 40 hours a week year-round

- Must be willing to work overtime when needed.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and been freely.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.

- This is a safety sensitive position, and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a drug screen and preemployment physical.

Pay: $23.00 - $28.00 per hour
