JOB SUMMARY:

The HSE Field Coordinator is responsible for rigsite health, safety, environmental, and training compliance for rig operations and loss control program within rig operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Goalsetting/Planning:

•

Assists in the development of annual HSE goals. Ensures input of HSE requirements in planning and design of new or modified equipment or facilities.

Communicating:

•

Supports company policies and provides guidance on content of those policies. Helps communicate policies to Nordic employees.

•

Contributes to daily morning reports.

•

Communicates audit findings with personnel.

•

Attend field assessments (Quarterly).

•

Active member of Safety Leadership Team at the rigsite. Establishes and maintains external communications with customers and internal communications within company regarding HSE requirements and performance.

•

Reports serious incidents to Nordic management.

•

Shares accident reports and safety bulletins with all rigs.

•

Attends industry safety meetings and seminars (including drilling HSE Forums) to keep current on new safety legislation. Be a resource for industrial hygiene issues such as SARA inventory, base line monitoring, and regulatory program requirements.

•

Be a Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for calibration and maintenance of gas meters. (Monthly)

Investigating:

•

Delivers Nordic personnel to medical clinic and relays all info to HSE Manager and Field Superintendent.

•

Investigating incidents reported to the company by Worker’s Compensation, drafting initial Incident Review reports on injuries, Worker’s Compensation Reports, as well as motor vehicle and property damage accidents.

Auditing:

•

Performs bi-monthly rig inspections/audits.

•

Develops action plans to address HSE deficiencies as identified during inspections and audits. Follows up on deficiencies to ensure they are closed out. (Bi-Monthly)

•

Follow up on HSE work order requests from the contract companies and operator audits. (Weekly)

Training:

•

Assists new employees with HSE and orientation training via completion of new hire checklist. Trains employees in safer ways to operate rig.

•

Becoming a Safety In Motion (SIM) trainer and acting as coach. Oversees the HSE portion of the mentoring /coaching process (Weekly).

•

Aids in ASH compliance. Be a resource for Job Hazard Analysis HSE issues as needed.

•

Be a resource for life safety code requirements such as fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, emergency lighting, etc. (Monthly)

•

Assists in facilitating weekly safety meetings; acts as a resource for those meetings.

•

Assists in trending and communicating STOP/BEAR data to the work groups. (Weekly)

SUPERVISORY FUNCTIONS:

This position has no supervisory functions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Recordkeeping:

•

Assesses on an ongoing basis, operations where standard operating procedures or documents are needed and assists in developing and updating those documents to ensure sustained compliance.

•

Identifies and ensures HSE records on rig are maintained and up to date in support of HSE systems (SAA, RAA, UAA, drills, safety meetings). Reviews all field paperwork for accuracy and completeness and files in Anchorage office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

•

High School diploma or equivalent required.

•

Valid IWCF well control certification preferred.

•

Ability to pass a drug screening, physical, driving, and background screening.

•

Valid state driver’s license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of the Company’s Driving Policy required

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Remote, industrial (noisy, wet, oily steel floor) environment frequently exposed to extreme weather conditions both on and offshore and may require work at various heights on the rig.
