The Health and Safety Director is responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and reporting for compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements related to health, safety, and OSHA Compliance. The Health and Safety Manger will provide leadership, vision, training, and coaching to implement and continuously improve our Health and Safety standards and practices.
Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Health & Safety related field required, Master’s degree desirable.
•3+ years’ experience developing or maintaining Health & Safety programs for manufacturing, chemical, or consumer products in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
•Must be able to interpret documents
•Previous supervisory experience is preferred
•Strong written and verbal communication skills
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Multi-Site leadership for our location and sister company in Bloomfield, CT
•Establish and maintain safety management system, as needed for quality standards
•Supports the quality system through adhering to the elements of and being familiar with the philosophy, quality statement, quality manual, and procedures that adhere to quality standards.
•Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety laws and regulations (OSHA) and promote a safety culture
•Develop and deliver safety training and awareness programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Work with HR to ensure properly documented and audit ready.
•Ensure all safety-related periodic inspections are performed and adequately documented. Identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
•Lead safety investigations and root cause analysis. Oversee/perform the accident and injury investigations, including recordkeeping and reporting.
•Research and develop health and safety initiatives and programs
•Analyze safety data to track performance and trends. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management and regulatory agencies.
•Complete job hazard analysis and risk assessment
•Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes. Recommend and implement improvements to enhance the company’s environmental management system.
•Drive the Safety culture by acting as an ambassador for Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental programs and in accordance with the Company vision and values
•Act as company liaison with regards to all regulatory inspections; have all Health and Safety records and files current and inspection ready
•Conduct periodic audits for compliance with safety and environmental policies and procedures and develop corrective actions for identified findings
•Lead the quarterly safety committee meetings
