About This Job

Find your superpower with the Graduate Development Program

National Grid’s Graduate Development Program (GDP) is a year-long development program for recent college graduates who aspire to take on future leadership roles in a dynamic, ever-changing industry. Graduates will shape the future of National Grid. Bringing fresh thinking, new perspectives, and exploring with energy, we’ll give you real responsibility and an opportunity to move with purpose from day one – putting the power to supercharge your career in your hands.

Graduates start their careers at National Grid with an in-depth 3-week in-person Orientation which gives you exposure to all parts of the company, allows you to network with your Graduate cohort, GDP alumni, and senior leaders, and provides you with the opportunity to travel throughout our service territory in the northeast US. Following Orientation, you’ll begin working in full-time position outlined below and take part in ongoing development activities including quarterly development sessions, active mentorship, and a Hackathon Project.

About the Position

Are you ready to dive into the world of regulatory strategy and make a real impact on the energy landscape? As an Associate Analyst in Regulatory Delivery and Strategy, you’ll represent the New England Electric business and help shape regulatory policies that drive optimization and value for our customers. You’ll be part of a growing team focused on the intersection of regulatory development, electric energy transition, and customer affordability. Join us in shaping a more reliable and affordable energy future for our customers!

This is a hybrid role that can be based in Waltham, MA or Northboro, MA.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll become a key player in navigating the regulatory landscape. Here’s what you’ll be up to:

- Subject Matter Expert: Become the go-to expert on NE Electric regulatory matters, including rate cases, the Electric Sector Modernization Plan (ESMP), and service quality.

- Optimize Recovery Mechanisms: Understand and optimize NE Electric recovery mechanisms to prevent overlaps and ensure smooth operations.

- Educate the Team: Share your knowledge of new and existing regulatory requirements with the electric business to drive optimal performance.

- Draft Testimony: Write testimony for regulatory filings, ensuring clarity and compliance with all requirements.

- Coordinate Responses: Work across NE Electric to respond to Information Requests (IRs) promptly, providing high-quality and accurate submissions.

- Build Relationships: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and gather insights on regulatory constraints.

- Strategic Writing: Prepare presentation materials for leadership meetings, including steering committees, and help develop the business case for proposed regulatory changes.

- External Engagement: Participate in external working groups to stay updated on industry trends and influence regulatory discussions where appropriate.

- Administrative Support: Assist project managers with scheduling meetings, taking notes, creating PowerPoints, and managing the administrative tasks related to filings.

What You’ll Need

- Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited institution preferably in public policy, political science, energy management, or a related field.

- Graduated between May 2025 and June 2026

- Ability to begin the National Grid Graduate Program on June 8, 2026, or July 13, 2026

- Valid driver’s license required with a safe driving history that meets National Grid’s Safe Driver policy

- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (such as sponsorship for an H-1B, TN, O, L, STEM OPT, or other employment-based work authorization)
