Glass Fabrication Shop Technician/General Laborer/Crate builder

Job Summary

We are seeking a Entry Level Glass Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of glass fabrication processes and be proficient in using various tools and equipment. Carpenter Skills are a plus for our custom wood crating competency. This role requires attention to detail, precision, and the ability to work with both hand tools and advanced measuring instruments. The Glass Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring that all glass products meet quality standards and specifications.

Duties

- Fabricate glass components according to technical drawings and specifications.

- Operate machining equipment and coordinate measuring machines to ensure precise measurements.

- Utilize hand tools, micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments for accurate fabrication.

- Interpret GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to ensure compliance with design requirements.

- Conduct quality checks on finished products to maintain high standards of workmanship.

- Collaborate with team members to optimize production processes and improve efficiency.

- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

- Proficiency in machining processes related to glass fabrication.

- Familiarity with CAD software for interpreting designs and creating layouts.

- Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

- Experience using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

- Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality assurance.

- Ability to lift heavy objects (large sheets of glass)

- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
