Industry-leading energy and general contractor, Top Form Industrial, Inc., TFI, founded in 2006, specializes in back-up power, including generators, fuel cells, and battery energy storage systems, as well as primary meter conversions and switchgear replacement. We are seeking a motivated and reliable Fabrication Shop Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting with welding and fabrication projects, handling materials, and operating cutting tools. The ideal candidate is hands-on, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Assist with setting up welding and fabrication projects under the guidance of lead fabricators/welders
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products
- Measure, mark, and cut materials according to project specifications using saws and other shop tools
- Package completed projects securely for shipment, ensuring all parts are protected and labeled appropriately
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Follow all safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times
- Perform other general shop duties as assigned
Experience: Previous experience in a fabrication, welding, or metalworking environment is preferred, but willing to train the right candidate; warehouse/shop experience preferred, but not required
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and precision
- Comfortable standing, bending, and working on projects for extended periods and ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and power tools
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
- Forklift experience is a plus (not required)
- Requires use of PPE including welding helmets, gloves, and safety gear
- Fabrication shop-based role with frequent exposure to welding operations, noise, and machinery
- Driver’s license and reliable transportation is a must
