Job Summary
The primary purpose of this role is safe and efficient execution of field services. Services include the operation of geotechnical survey equipment. Data collection. Sample collection. Also includes, but is not limited to set-up, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of geotechnical surveying systems.
1. Execute field services in an efficient, safe, and professional manner. Services include the operation of geotechnical survey equipment. Data collection. Sample collection. Also includes, but is not limited to set-up, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, inspection, and repair of geotechnical surveying systems.
2. The Geotechnical Technician is responsible for executing geotechnical testing and sample logging & processing. Labelling, package, and shipping of samples.
4. Under supervision, receive and follow detailed instructions on how to safely perform hands-on technical duties associated with above noted services. Responsibilities include job preparation, pre and post-job checks, load-out, rig-in, rig-out, obtaining permits, and field maintenance of equipment. Complete and record paperwork associated with these tasks.
5. Must operate company equipment in a safe manner, observing all company and government regulations and arrive at jobsite or other designated destination at scheduled time. Maintain regulatory documentation as required. May be required to hold industry related certifications.
6. Ensure job operations are conducted in accordance with client specifications, government regulations, and company policies and procedures.
7. Follow technical procedures in the execution of field services and actively monitor and record data as required. Seek advice and approval as required.
8. Work flexible work schedule and report for work mentally and physically fit.
11. Report all accidents, incidents or unsafe conditions and take all necessary steps to prevent accidental damage to company property, client facilities, and the environment.
12. Work in outside environment in various weather conditions.
13. Attend technical training courses and partake in competency management activities as required.
14. Maintain integrity and professionalism in representing RTEI.
15. Comply with RTEI QHSES policies and procedures as they relate to work activities.
16. Ensure all workplaces are kept clean and tidy and that emergency equipment is available and emergency evacuation routes are kept clear.
19. Resource and price project related goods and/or services in accordance with company procedures.
20. Carry out other tasks and duties as directed by supervisor.
21. Domestic, offshore, and international travel as required.
