About the Role:
BayWa r.e. Americas is seeking a GIS Manager to join our Development team. This role will provide critical services to multiple departments across the organization, with a primary focus on creating and maintaining a GIS platform and associated workflows that facilitate the organized management of utility scale renewable energy projects. The role will include maintaining and improving a GIS tool set that allows for the collaborative collection, organization, and publishing of geographically based data sets. The role also entails consulting with various departments to understand their GIS based needs and creating work products and mapping that facilitate those needs. The GIS platform, associated geographic data sets, and mapping outputs will be used to inform important business functions including the assessment of site characteristics, site-suitability, and the basis for engineering design.
Responsibilities:
•Maintaining a GIS tool set that can be used across the organization to understand project locations and constraints, thereby facilitating project review and decision making.
•Working across departments to build and implement workflows that ensure all relevant data is collected, organized, and published in GIS tools.C
•onsulting with various departments including Development, Real Estate, Interconnection, Permitting, and Engineering to understand user interface requirements and desired work product outputs from the GIS tool set.
•Creating mapping outputs that allow users across the organization to create collateral materials for internal and external uses.
•Ensuring the GIS tool set provides ample opportunities for user interface across the organization.
•Creating and implementing a GIS training plan to ensure users across the organization understand how to interact with the input and output process of the GIS tool set.
•Managing corporate user accounts. Establishing and managing a customer support function to address issues flagged by users.
Qualifications:
•5+ years of experience managing GIS platforms for utility-scale renewable energy project development using the ESRI ArcGIS Enterprise platform with ArcGIS PRO software.
•Ability to define, lead, and exemplify best practices for enterprise GIS content creation and management.
•Familiarity with different cloud-based databases and server systems and their tradeoffs including Sharepoint, OneDrive, Azure and PostgreSQL.
•Technical knowledge of renewable energy development including typical site constraints and other geographic data sets typically used in project development, engineering, and construction.
•Experience with geographic information systems, data science, and data analytics.
•Good time management and the ability to manage several projects/tasks at once and have the flexibility to accomplish them.
•An ability to think and plan at a high-level to design a system that addresses user needs, while simultaneously taking a detail oriented approach to identifying challenges and implementing solutions.
Pay range and compensation package:
•Total compensation package dependent upon a number of factors, including candidate’s professional experience, candidate’s skills, position’s seniority level, department’s hiring budget, and position’s location.
•The salary range for this role is $110,000-$130,000.
