We seek a skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our metals manufacturing team as a General Labor Metals Manufacturing Operator. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing tasks related to cutting flat, finishing Claire line, slitting, rolling, and annealing processes. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in our manufacturing operations.
- Operate cutting machinery to cut metal sheets precisely according to specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Monitor and adjust cutting parameters to ensure optimal efficiency and product quality.
- Conduct regular inspections of cutting equipment to identify and address any maintenance needs.
- Execute finishing processes to achieve desired surface characteristics on metal products.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to meet specified finishing standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on finishing equipment to ensure smooth operations.
- Operate slitting machinery to slit metal into specified widths.
- Monitor and control the slitting process to meet quality and production requirements.
- Troubleshoot and address issues related to slitting equipment.
- Set up and operate rolling mills to shape metal into desired forms.
- Monitor rolling processes to ensure compliance with product specifications.
- Collaborate with maintenance personnel to address any rolling mill issues promptly.
- Perform annealing processes to enhance the physical properties of metal products.
- Monitor annealing parameters and adjust as necessary.
- Conduct routine inspections of annealing equipment and perform maintenance tasks as required.
- Load and unload raw materials onto the equipment.
- Inspect materials for defects or irregularities before processing.
- Handle and transport finished products to the designated storage areas.
- Conduct regular quality checks to verify that products meet specified dimensions and tolerances.
- Adjust the machine settings as needed to maintain quality standards.
- Identify and report any issues or deviations from the production requirements.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or breakdowns to the supervisor promptly.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to create a secure working environment.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to supervisors immediately or safety co-chairs.
- Proven experience in metals manufacturing or a related field.
- Technical proficiency in operating cutting, finishing, slitting, rolling, and annealing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in executing manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Vocational training or certification in metal manufacturing is a plus.
- Prior experience in a similar role within the metals industry is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials.
- Stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Adherence to safety guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
