Garbage Truck Helper

Overview

This position involves collecting waste and recyclables from residential and commercial areas, ensuring that all materials are disposed of properly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, reliable, and dedicated to providing excellent service to our community.

Duties

- Perform heavy lifting to load waste materials into the collection vehicle.

- Ensure that all collected refuse is secured in the vehicle for safe transport.

- Follow designated routes for collection and maintain a schedule to ensure timely service.

- Communicate effectively with team members and the public regarding collection schedules and procedures.

- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition and report any maintenance needs.

- Maintain cleanliness of the work area and vehicle after each shift.

Experience

- Previous experience in refuse collection or a similar role is preferred but not required.

- Ability to perform heavy lifting, as this role requires physical stamina and strength.

- Strong communication skills and a commitment to teamwork are highly valued in this position.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 per week
