Gage Calibration Technician

Working hours: 7:00 - 3:30, Monday through Friday.

This position will be inspecting customer thread and/or cylindrical gages. The calibration process includes cleaning, lapping, resetting as well as the dimensional inspection of each gage.

Qualifications/Experience – Working knowledge of blueprint reading is helpful. Inspection experience is preferred.

Education and/or Experience – Must have a high school diploma or GED. Must be willing to attend additional training as requested.

Language Skills - Able to read, speak, and understand English.

Mathematical Skills – Ability to understand and work with addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and simple mathematical formulas. Will be working with precise measurements that can be to the .00001” of an inch.

Computer Skills ( What programs do they need to know) – Experience with an ERP system.

Skills and Abilities – Must have strong attention to detail and some mechanical understanding. Must be driven to work in a fast paced environment and have strong customer service skills. Must have a willingness to learn, to train others, and accept training from others. Must be willing and able to interact with other departments to assist in decision-making or resolving problems. Must be focused on cleanliness and organization of work area. Must be able to perform work functions safely. Must be able to use all required measuring tools used to complete job.

Physical Demands - Ability to sit and/or stand over an 8 hr period. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Work Environment – Mfg. temperature-controlled lab and manufacturing environment.
