Gauge Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gage Technician to join our Quality team and support our manufacturing operations.

Position Summary

The Gage Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all gaging equipment used in our manufacturing processes. This position requires expertise in gaging techniques, calibration standards, and the ability to design and maintain gages that support both prototype and production needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Ensure availability of required gaging for all shifts and locations.

- Verify calibration compliance of gages used in manufacturing process control.

- Quote new gage builds, ensuring pricing and application align with process intent and APQP reviews.

- Design and fabricate gages for prototype and production support.

- Confirm appropriate gages are listed in Control Plans and inspection check sheets.

- Repair and maintain gages promptly to minimize downtime.

- Manage the Gage Pack calibration system in accordance with company procedures.

- Conduct MSA and GR&R studies to ensure compliance with internal and industry standards.

- Utilize CMM and other inspection methods for gage calibration.

- Collaborate with the Quality Department to support manufacturing needs.

- Ensure compliance with Skyway’s Quality policies (IATF16949 & ISO 14001).

- Follow all safety rules and procedures.

- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Systems Manager.

Qualifications

- Proven experience with gaging techniques and calibration standards.

- Strong understanding of Control Plans, APQP, and inspection documentation.

- Ability to design and fabricate custom gages.

- Experience with CMM and other precision inspection tools.

- Familiarity with MSA and GR&R studies.

- Knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO 14001 standards is a plus.

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
