We have a great position for an experienced Calibration Technician to join our team. We are a growing, 25-year-old small company that needs a valued team member. A perfect candidate can perform electrical, dimensional, pressure, temperature, and torque calibrations and repairs, and requires minimal supervision to perform calibration in these areas in the lab or at customer sites. Other instrumentation knowledge is a plus. The candidate will also be required to perform calibration on many types of instrumentation and have other lab responsibilities. They should also have a working knowledge of measurement equipment and be able to identify malfunctioning instruments.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Ability to read, write and comprehend technical documents and correspondence
- Education, Training, Certification(s) And 5 Minimum Years Of Experience Required
- Education: Min. 2 yr. Technical Degree
- Experience: Min. 5+ years metrology lab (preferred)- ASQ/CCT or CMT certification a plus
- Proven experience as a Calibration Technician
- Strong knowledge of measurement principles, calibration techniques, and equipment operation
- This position will normally receive no instruction on work, applying job skills and company policies and procedures to complete a wide range of difficult tasks, and working on assignments that are moderately complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations
- Familiarity with calibration standards and procedures (e.g., ISO 17025)
- Proficiency in using calibration software and equipment, such as calibrator, signal generators, and data loggers
- Document and maintain all certifications of lab standards
- Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of precision equipment
- Develop and maintain metrology measurement lab procedures and methods, according to detailed specifications.
- Collect, compile, measure, summarize, and record data gathered during calibration
- Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective action via adjustments, component replacement, correction factors, etc
- Identify and correct measurement errors, as applicable. Prepare calibration reports and certificates
- Evaluate new testing devices and technology
- Adapt existing calibration equipment, standards, and techniques to accomplish unique measurements tasks for which they are not principally used
- Perform uncertainty evaluation and analysis for measurement standards and associated measurement processes
- Train subordinates in calibration concepts and procedures
- Provide technical support with other technicians, Customer Service Representatives, Account Managers, and customers
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Perform periodic safety inspections for lab
- Provide shipping and receiving services for test equipment
- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
