TDP Bakery is currently seeking a highly qualified and self-motivated individual to join our Quality team.
Our FSQA Manager will be the heart of quality and safety in our Chandler, Arizona bakery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for process improvement, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. He/she will need to perform exceptionally well as both an integral member of a team and as an individual contributor.

TDP Bakery is an established, 30-year-old company that manufactures and distributes fresh bakery products to thousands of locations nightly. This formerly small family business has grown up but still maintains the benefits of a close-knit culture, while rapidly expanding scale over recent years with new investment in the organization and talent. Our combined bakeries manufacture millions of fresh bakery treats, and it is critical to ensure they are safe and consistent for our consumers.
Food Safety and Quality
Serve sas the overall quality leader for the bakery and associated distribution.
•Directs, develops, and implements the quality function; oversees continuous improvement of our Quality Management (QMS) processes, training, and adherence using a Safe Quality Food (SQF) scheme for the location.
•Establishes and leads process of end-to-end risk assessment for the bakery; prioritizes opportunities and ensures that adequate mitigation plans are in place; updates quality systems to ensure that ongoing management is sufficient.
•Builds and maintains strong relationships with the bakery, distribution, and internal functional partners; leverages those relationships to ensure that they understand and participate in programs to guarantee a consistent, safe, and wholesome product and an excellent consumer experience for the market.
•Measures, analyzes, and monitors quality/food safety performance; establishes appropriate integration of reviews/responses from such measures in regular business process reviews.
•Leads, develops, empowers, and supports local quality/sanitation team to ensure that programs are implemented and followed.
•Leads the sites’ compliance to FSMA, SQF, FDA, and State and Local Regulations: HACCP, PC, Food Defense, Food Fraud, etc.
•Supervises sanitation team and coordinates with external partners to ensure effective sanitation program, proven via environmental monitoring.
•Conducts daily start-up inspections prior to production.
•Oversees daily quality assurance activities, to include product conformity.
•Collaborates with cross-functional teams in developing and leading training for regulatory and internal requirements.
•Manages the inventory and purchasing requirements for the department.
•Maintains compliance of raw material receiving and traceability.
•Assists Sr. Manager with site-specific mock recalls.
•Facilitates regulatory and 3rd party inspections
•Assists Sr. Manager in aligning processes, department procedures/projects and employee performances.
•Tracks and reports safety audit results to Senior Management.
•Supports other departments’ managers in audit projects and corrective actions.
•Performs internal quality audits in the facility and implements corrective actions based on audit results.
•Maintains a current site library of all SOPs in compliance with FDA, USDA, AIB and SQF.
•Ensures facility compliance to any legal requirements and other applicable regulations.
•Leads proactive measures to ensure that all employees follow all policies and procedures pertaining to safety regulations (GMP, HACCP, and SQF)
•Manages SOP training compliance and adherence. Partners with R&D on application of updates.
•Creates labels, orders and assists in plant signage to comply with safety and GMP regulations.
•Achieves/maintains SQF certification.
•Verifies the PM program compliance.
Operations/Distribution Support
•Conducts required new hire training for personnel in operations.
•Supports corporate/site capital plans to minimize safety/occupational health hazards.
•Supports development of operating parameters and training materials to drive product consistency/conformity.
•Serve as member of safety committee.
•Advises manufacturing site of corporate regulatory changes with which the site must comply. Sufficient advance notice should be provided so that compliance on the effective date of new regulations is assured.
Skills Needed:

•Time-Management: tracking/monitoring production and maintaining productivity
•Technical Capacity: computer literacy to leverage systems used to ensure organization and compliance

•Detail orientation needed to engage with other functions in policy updates/refinement and adherence
Requirements:
•Bachelors or Associates Degree required, preferably in scientific field
•Minimum of 3 years' experience in supervisory/managerial role in quality
•Minimum of 2 years working in a plant or manufacturing environment
•Minimum of 2 years' experience in the bakery or food and beverage industry
•Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
•SQF practitioner/HACCP certification strongly preferred
•PCQI or OSHA 10 preferred
•Day shift, but will require flexibly when needed to ensure training and compliance with a 3-shift operation
Physical Requirements:
•Requires ability to walk and stand for up to 12 hours at a time
•Requires ability to stoop, bend, reach, lift, and carry items up to 50 lbs.
•Requires ability to climb ladders and stairs of various heights occasionally
