About This Job

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:

Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal by maximizing the effective utilization of the resources provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

•

Supervise and provide direction to hourly employees in continuous miner or longwall production and/or utility work.

•

Plan, organize, schedule and coordinate with Shift Coordinator all mining and/or utility projects.

•

Supervise all aspects of safe and efficient production of coal and/or utility work.

•

Implement and maintain compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

•

Task training of personnel as required.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

•

Minimum of five (5) years of underground coal mining experience

•

Mining engineering degree will substitute for mining experience

•

Previous supervisory experience preferred

•

Computer skills including Excel, Microsoft Word, Power Point and Outlook

•

Excellent interpersonal skills

•

Excellent communications skills, both written and oral

•

Excellent safety and attendance record

•

Utah Mine Foreman Certification
