We’re currently seeking a Trading Analyst to help enhance the tools our team relies on daily, assist in developing trading strategies, and gain hands-on experience as a Real-Time trader. This role offers a strong pathway into a high-impact trading position in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
What You Will Do
•Develop and maintain tools used by the trading team on a daily basis (e.g., dashboards, pricing models, data visualizations)
•Assist in researching, investigating, and developing trading strategies using historical data and real-time market trends
•Gain proficiency as a Real-Time trader through hands-on exposure to market operations
•Support the trading desk by occasionally backfilling Real-Time shifts as needed
•Potential to transition into a full-time Real-Time trading role
•Collaborate with traders and analysts to identify process improvements and automation opportunities
•Monitor market data feeds and support trade execution processes
•Help produce performance reports and post-trade analysis
•Use Python, Excel, or other analytical tools to build and optimize workflows (if applicable)
•Demonstrate strong attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work under time-sensitive conditions
What You Will Bring:
Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, finance, economics, engineering, or a related discipline.
•Proficient programming skills, with an emphasis on VBA and Python. Familiarity with Java, XML, SQL, and MySQL is an asset.
•Experience building analytic tools (gathering, cleaning, and manipulating datasets, ultimately deriving meaningful results).
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure.
•Comfortable and capable of eventually working on a rotating 12-hour day & night shift schedule.
•Demonstrated interest in energy markets, trading, or commodities.
•Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in computer science, programming, or a related field.
•Prior experience developing new tools in collaboration with others.
•Familiarity with energy trading systems or platforms (e.g., ETRMs, ISO portals).
