The foreman will supervise a team of workers to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. Job requirements include strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as years of experience. Key duties involve directing work, training employees, monitoring progress, adhering to safety standards, and managing materials
- Coordinate with the project manager on daily tasks
- Supervise crews in up to 5 yards and no more than 10 crewmen
- Safety oversight of all yard activity and personnel
- Supervise all rigging activities
- Collect invoices and packing slips and get them to the project manager
- This is a working position
- Work with and assist crew members in all matters relating to material and yard organization and material acquisition
- Operate various class forklifts and/or cranes/boom trucks
- Operate trucks and ATVs
- Load and unload trucks with material, wire/cable, and all types of utility poles
- Sort and organize material and poles in yards
- Inspect the condition of the material, wire/cable, and all types of utility poles
- Make minor repairs
- Tagging
- Kitting, packaging, and staging for contractors
- Deliveries to contactors
- Building material cribbing
- Pick up trash and clean the yards, equipment, and associated outbuildings
- Several years of experience in construction/welding or electrical
- High school diploma or equivalent at minimum
- OSHA 10 certification is preferred
- Leadership: Ability to motivate, train, and direct workers.
- Communication: Clear oral and written communication with the team, management, and stakeholders.
- Problem-solving: The ability to handle unexpected issues and make decisions.
- Technical: Ability to read blueprints and plans, and a good understanding of safety protocols.
Ability to perform physical tasks like lifting, bending, and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
