Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.
Reporting to the Production Superintendent, the Production Foreman is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing production operations across a geographic area, ensuring regulatory compliance, optimizing production, and mentoring lease operators. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, and cross-functional collaboration to execute production, construction, maintenance, measurement, and automation projects. The Production Foreman drives operational excellence, resolves complex challenges, while cultivating a culture that is selfless, accountable, and never settling.
- Oversee daily production operations, validating production volumes and troubleshooting complex variances to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Lead optimization of base production and integration of new wells, applying in-depth knowledge of oil and gas production processes.
- Use SCADA, Field Operator, Carte, Wellview, and SiteView to monitor performance and enhance operational decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to Discovery’s HSE policies and state/federal regulatory standards, conducting regular audits to maintain a safe work environment.
- Lead safety initiatives and foster a proactive safety culture across the production team.
- Drive strategic compliance efforts, ensuring operational integrity and regulatory alignment.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, tracking costs and aligning financial planning with operational goals.
- Provide accurate cost reports and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making.
- Optimize resource allocation to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Mentor and coach lease operators and emerging leaders, building technical and leadership capabilities.
- Provide structured feedback and training to enhance team performance and foster a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Oversee team schedules and workload to ensure operational continuity and efficiency.
- Lead collaboration with construction, maintenance, measurement, and automation teams to ensure excellence in project execution.
- Serve as a key liaison between field operations and engineering/management, communicating production data and strategic insights.
- Contribute to policy development and align field activities with company objectives.
- Drive adoption of new technologies and methods, optimizing SCADA and other platforms to enhance reporting and decision-making.
- Lead resolution of complex operational challenges, balancing technical, financial, and human factors to implement sustainable solutions.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in production workflows and processes
- High school diploma or GED
- 7+ years of production operations or equivalent oil and gas industry experience.- At least 5 years of supervisory experience preferred

- Expert understanding of oil and gas production processes, including volume validation, variance troubleshooting, and well optimization.
- Proficiency in budgeting, planning, and tracking performance metrics for production activities.
- Advanced skills in SCADA, Field Operator, Carte, Wellview, SiteView, Outlook, Excel, and Word for operational management and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to lead teams and collaborate across departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address complex operational challenges.
- Familiarity with state and federal oil and gas regulatory obligations.
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record, with the ability to safely operate a vehicle in rural and variable weather conditions.
Majority of work will be outdoors under variable weather conditions. May require occasional lifting of heavy objects. Physical ability to perform routine maintenance on oil and gas wells as required.
