Spectrum Management, LLC has been serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area for over 24 years and provides a comprehensive array of services that include construction management, facilities management and real estate development services. Spectrum is currently seeking a part-time experienced Floor Maintenance Technician who will have the primary responsibility of maintaining the condition and appearance of high-traffic floor areas in our Marion S. Barry building location.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Must be available to work standard shift: Monday – Friday, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm.
•Follows and completes the facility’s daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedule.
•Utilizes commercial floor maintenance equipment to perform floor care duties.
•Cleans assigned carpeted areas using appropriate techniques and equipment.
•Buff, wax and polish floors as needed to maintain condition and environment.
•Wet mops washable floors in accordance with building schedule including break rooms, bathrooms, offices, lobby and hallways.
•Sweeps and clears entrance spaces, daily
•Dusts, washes and sanitizes other surfaces as specified in schedule
•Performs other cleaning duties as specified in schedule
•Reports the following to the CSM:
•Presence of animals, vermin or insects
•Need for cleaning supplies or equipment repair in advance
•Water leaks and other maintenance needs
•All other health and safety hazards noticed
•Participates in environmental safety activities, as requested
•Performs other duties as assigned
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
•The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Tasks involve some physical effort, i.e. some standing and walking, or frequent light lifting (up to 30 lb.); manual dexterity in the use of fingers, limbs, or body in the operation of cleaning equipment and efficient usage of cleaning materials. Tasks may involve extended periods of time while standing or walking.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
•High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
•3 years experience in the custodial field.
•Floor Maintenance experience including buffering, stripping and waxing with proper equipment maintenance.
•General applicable knowledge of proper cleaning methods.
•MS Office Suite (Outlook/email) basic experience.
•Must be able to comply with all required site background checks, including fingerprints.
•Successful experience working as an effective member of a team.
•Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff & clients.
