Required Skills & Qualifications:
*FMCSA periodic vehicle inspection qualification
* To qualify for performing FMCSA periodic vehicle inspections, individuals must demonstrate a thorough understanding of inspection criteria, proficiency in inspection methods, and possess relevant experience or training. Specifically, inspectors need to be knowledgeable about Part 393 and Appendix G of the FMCSRs, be able to identify defective components, and be familiar with the necessary tools and procedures. Furthermore, they must have completed a Federal or State-sponsored training program, possess a qualifying certificate, or have a combination of training and experience totaling at least one year, proven and verifiable.
*Commercial Brake Certification
* Successfully completed a State or Federal training program or has certificate from a State or Canadian Province which qualifies the person to perform commercial vehicle safety inspections, or have a combination of training or experience totaling at least one year, proven and verifiable.
* Mechanical Proficiency: Semis, Pickups, Trailers, Small engine, Forklifts, Hydraulics
*Welding/Grinding
*Problem Solving Skills
*Attention to Detail
*Safety Awareness
*Communication Skills
*Adaptability
* Valid license
* Clean MVR
* 5 Years Verifiable job experience
* Clean Background - Must be able to pass a government background check.

Responsibilities:
•Inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a variety of vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: Semi trucks, Pickup trucks, Gooseneck trailers, Semi-trailers, Forklifts, Small engines, Hydraulic systems, and small cranes
•Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems, perform routine maintenance, and replace worn and/or damaged parts. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, and the ability to work in various conditions, including mobile situations with a company vehicle.
•Diagnose and troubleshoot problems using diagnostic tools and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
•Maintain detailed records of all FMCSA required documents, repairs, maintenance, and parts inventory, using computer systems and/or manual logs.
•Safety Compliance: adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
•Communicate with supervisors, operators, and other team members to coordinate repairs and maintenance.
•Travel to various job sites to repair equipment as needed.
•Maintain clean shop & tools
•Ordering and retrieving parts
•Oversee, teach and develop Jr Mechanic
•Other duties as assigned
