Position Details

The Fleet Mechanic is integral to the successful and smooth operation of our divisions. Within this role, the Fleet Mechanic performs routine maintenance, diagnoses, repairs, and maintains the service trucks and vans, forklifts and aerial lifts, trailers, and other vehicles. The Fleet Mechanics ensure that vehicles and equipment are safe and reliable.

Primary Duties

- Diagnosing Vehicle Issues: Using diagnostic tools and knowledge, identify problems with a vehicle's engine, transmission, electrical system, braking system, etc.

- Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring proper functionality and safety

- Perform routine maintenance tasks like oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid level checks

- Test repaired vehicles and systems to ensure proper operation

- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed

- Keep the work area clean and organized

- Adhere to safety regulations and procedures when working with vehicles and equipment

- Order necessary parts and materials for repairs

Additional Duties

- Assist with warehouse work as needed including loading/unloading shipments

- Running parts for jobs

Skills Required

- Communication skills, with the ability to multitask

- Speaking Chinese/Mandarin in addition to English a plus

- 2 plus years’ experience in auto and lift mechanics

- Excellent customer service skills, which reflect the values of our company

- A sense of personal responsibility, and passion for the success of the business

- A professional demeanor and punctuality

- Team oriented, can do attitude

- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

- Ability to stay organized and on task

- Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

Reporting Relationships

Davis Door Service is one company with multiple divisions. This structure allows us to serve our internal customers effectively and responsibly. Each division has a division manager who oversees daily operations, which includes the oversight for requesting work on vehicles and equipment. You will be working under the direction of the Lead Mechanic located in Seattle.
