Position Summary
The Financial Controller will be responsible for all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, cost control, and the development of internal control policies and procedures. This is a hands-on leadership role in a manufacturing environment, requiring strong attention to detail, process discipline, and a drive for continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
•Oversee all daily accounting operations including accounts receivable/payable, payroll, general ledger, inventory, and job costing
•Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP
•Develop, monitor, and report on key financial KPIs (gross margin, job cost variance, working capital, etc.)
•Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes
•Manage cash flow, credit, and banking relationships
•Analyze financial performance and provide strategic recommendations to ownership
•Ensure accurate costing and pricing of parts and jobs; support quoting and estimating teams with financial data
•Coordinate year-end audit and tax filings with external CPA firm
•Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings
•Evaluate and improve financial systems, controls, and reporting processes
•Supervise current accounting admin staff
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
•Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment
•Strong understanding of cost accounting, job costing, and inventory valuation
•Proficient in manufacturing ERP systems (e.g. Plex, JobBOSS, or similar)
•Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with Power BI or other reporting tools a plus
•Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial team members
•Hands-on, process-driven, and detail-oriented
