Field Technician – Lifting Equipment

Position Overview

We are hiring motivated field technician to support our Rigging and Lifting Equipment projects. The position will be hands-on and will require the ability to keep focus on our digital systems, documentation and workflows. This role allows our teams to work seamlessly together from the field to management while maintaining a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

Work is based in the yard as well as possible field opportunities, primarily outdoors in varied weather conditions. Work may occur at construction sites, marine yards, industrial facilities, or infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist with setup and cleanup of work areas and equipment

- Load, unload, and move materials and tools

- Operate basic tools and equipment safely and effectively

- Follow instructions and adhere to all site safety requirements

- Perform general maintenance and support duties as assigned

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites

- Perform equipment inspections

- Carry out tagging, and safety verifications in accordance with CSA, ASME, API, and other standards

- Maintain detailed inspection reports and ensure data is entered accurately into asset management systems

- Identify and report equipment deficiencies, non-conformances, or hazards immediately

- Participate in toolbox talks, JSAs, and yard/field safety meetings

- Data entry, email tracking, and document preparation.

- Ensure all documentation is submitted and stored in line with company procedures.

- Update digital systems (project databases, document control systems, inspection logs, certificates etc.

- Manage email correspondence as req

- Organize and track incoming and outgoing documentation for projects, liaise with admin support

- Liaise with project managers and field personnel to collect and file daily documentation.

- Provide reminders, updates, and support for task tracking and deadline compliance.

- Assist team members as required.

Key Qualifications

The right person for this position will have the following qualifications;

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred

- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-player mindset

- Ability to follow direction and complete tasks independently

- Experience with lifting equipment and rigging.

- Physical ability to work outdoors in yard and client sites year-round, including lifting up to 50 lbs

- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and record-keeping

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, OneDrive).

- Experience working within digital files and systems.

- Familiarity with digital documents and adapt to management procedures.

- Excellent communication and a positive, team-focused attitude

- Previous experience in construction, marine, or industrial environments considered an asset

- Comfortable with physical labour and working outdoors
