Depending on their level of knowledge & experience, the Field Specialist's role applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or jobs for a variety of products and services. Entry and intermediate level roles will receive direct supervision in support of their duties and assignments. Senior and fully-qualified level roles will not only provide the direction to junior specialists but will also use their extensive knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and make recommendations to alter development and designs to improve the quality of products and procedures. Familiarity with the variety of field concepts may result in senior roles supporting research but will certainly be used to plan assignments and accomplish goals. Intermediate and Senior positions will act as the key interface with the client at the well site, carrying the duties and responsibilities for completing service assignments and managing other Weatherford personnel at the well site. Whilst this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the Field Specialist position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant. Senior roles will be involved with more advanced technology.
Responsibilities and Duties:
•Inspect and maintain offshore Managed Pressure Drilling manifolds and equipment
•Participate in job hazard analysis and safety meetings
•Understand principles of hydraulic systems and function
•Must be proficient in oil field calculations including volumes and pressures
•Maintain the MPD hydraulic model with operating data
•Maintain the MPD local area network and peripherals
•Knowledge of well control practices and equipment
•Demonstrate knowledge of the offshore drilling process
•Manage inventory, complete work orders
•Prepare and complete job reports on a timely basis.
•Available to assist with shop asset readiness
•Comply with Weatherford quality standards
•Maintain offshore compliance and competency
•Work at the direction of the MPD supervisor team
Essential Requirements:
•3-5 years of oil and gas field experience
•Able to work remotely offshore
•Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
•High School diploma (or Secondary School Diploma or equivalent)
•Mechanical aptitude to service field equipment
•Computer skills including basic networking and Microsoft suite
Preferred Requirements:
•Managed Pressure Drilling experience.
•Offshore deep-water experience.
•Well control certification
